Diana Delva Invited to San Antonio Silver Stars Training Camp

Delva becomes the second player to join a WNBA team for training camp, following Danielle Hood who was taken by the Atlanta Dream with the 32nd pick in the 2008 draft. Hood, who was the first women's player in school history to be drafted, went on to play professionally in Portugal. MaryLynne Schaefer, who graduated in 2009, is currently playing overseas in Germany.

Delva closed out a decorated four-year career at Hartford third all-time in scoring after being named the 2010 America East Player of the Year. She led the Hawks in scoring in 2009-10, 462 points, while finishing second in the nation in field goal percentage (64.7 percent, 178-of-275).

Delva led the Hawks to a 27-5 overall record, on the way winning a school-record 20 straight games. The Hawks finished out the regular season with a perfect 16-0 record in the America East, the first time in school history, sixth time in conference history, the Hawks have gone undefeated in conference play.

For her career, Delva is among the top-five in eight career statistical categories, including the all-time leading in field goal percentage at 61.3 percent (539-of-879). She is second all-time in rebounding (930), blocked shots (167) and games played (132), while closing out her career fourth all-time in field goals made (539) and free throws made (321) and fifth all-time in rebounding average (7.0 rebounds per game). She also holds the school record for single season field goal percentage with her 64.7 percent average as a senior. She is also second in single season rebounds (259) and blocks (64) and is fourth in single season points (462).

As well as being named the America East Player of the Year, Delva was named to the First Team All-Conference and the All-Defensive Team following the regular season. She was also named to the All-Championship Team after the Hawks fell to Vermont in the conference championship. Delva was a four-time America East Player of the Week in 2009-10. Prior to this season's conference honors, Delva was named to the America East Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore and junior and was named to the third team and all-rookie team as a freshman.
