Four players in double figures and a school record 27 assists lead to Hawks 85-45 rout of the UMBC Retrievers on Tuesday at Chase Arena. The Hawks improve to 19-3 overall and 10-0 in conference action, while UMBC falls to 9-13 overall and 3-6 in the America East.
Senior forward/Center Diana Delva scored her third Player of the Week honor this season, and the fourth for the Hawks. Delva’s honor comes after leading the Hawks to a pair of road wins against Vermont and Stony Brook in a 2-0 week.
Junior point guard Jackie Smith scored a career-high 19 points, while tying a school record for three pointers made in a game, to lead the Hartford women’s basketball team to a 60-42 win over Stony Brook on Saturday afternoon. The win is the 11th straight for Hartford, who improves to 18-3 overall and 9-0 in conference action.
The University of Hartford women’s basketball team squeezed out a defensive battle 38-36 to extend its win streak to 10-straight games and improve to 8-0 in America East Conference action. The Hawks were led by Diana Delva who scored the game-winning bucket on a put back with 2.2 seconds remaining.
