Baseball Drops 12-3 Decision to Bryant

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Donnie Cohoon went 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring a team-high two runs as the Hartford baseball team fell, 12-3, at home to Bryant this afternoon. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 0-9 on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-9 on the campaign.

BRYANT 12, HARTFORD 3
The Hawks started the game strong as Donnie Cohoon led off with a triple to left center off the first pitch of the game. Derek Tenney stepped up in the next at-bat, hitting a single up the middle, plating Cohoon and giving the Hawks an early 1-0 lead. Tremayne Cobb Jr. kept the Hawks' momentum going, recording a single of his own. Hartford would get runners on second and third, but Bryant ended the inning, preventing the Hawks from adding onto its lead.

The Bulldogs responded in the top half of the third, scoring seven runs before adding two more in the fourth to take a 9-1 lead. The Hawks struck back in the bottom half of the seventh. Tyler Holmes led off the inning with a single through the right side. Cohoon doubled to right field, advancing Holmes to third before Cobb Jr. hit a ball to right center, plating Cohoon and Holmes to cut Bryant's lead to 10-3. The deficit was too much for the Hawks to overcome though, as Bryant took home a 12-3 victory.
