Fourteen Hawks Named America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes

BOSTON – The America East Conference has announced that 14 student-athletes from the University of Hartford have been named America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes for their outstanding academic achievements throughout their entire careers. The award recognizes graduating student-athletes who have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher as an undergraduate student.

The Hawks' award winners are led by Abby Myers of women's track and field and Jenna Pupillo of women's lacrosse, as they finished with the highest GPAs in this year's senior class after posting perfect 4.0 cumulative marks.

The other award winners included Megan Anderson, Lacey Zadra and Abby Nash from volleyball, Elizabeth Lodge from women's track and field, Kiana Harris and Danielle Rocheleau from softball, Hunter Marks from men's basketball, Jordan Smith, Debbie Phillips, and Kaitlyn D'Andrea from women's lacrosse, Nina Farkic from women's basketball and Christian Paley from men's lacrosse.

A total of 107 America East student-athletes received the accolade for the 2020-21 season, with Vermont taking the title for the most honorees in the league (20). UAlbany trailed with the second-most honorees with 15, followed by Binghamton (15) and Hartford (14). NJIT ranked fifth with 11 honorees, followed by Maine and UMass Lowell tying for sixth with 10.
