BOULDER CITY, Nev. — Senior
Matthew Schwab tied for fourth place to lead the Hartford men's golf team finished fifth at the Big Sky Championships. Schwab, who entered the final day of the 54-hole event tied for first, carded a 1-over 217 at the tournament, which was held at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

TOURNAMENT NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS:
- Schwab had himself a round on Monday, carding a career-low 66 (-6) on Day Two to move up 17 spots on the leaderboard
- The Big Sky All-Conference performer entered the final day tied with eventual tournament runner-up Jake Vincent from Southern Utah with an even-par 144
- A native of Chandler, Ariz., Schwab led Hartford at five events this season with six top-10 efforts
- The Hawks finished fifth overall with a combined team score of 906
- Senior Ryan Tomaso (82-74-73, 229) shot a 1-over 73 on Tuesday's final day to move up eight spots and finish tied for 17th
- Sophomore Manuel Romero was Hartford's next finisher, as his 14-over 230 was good for 20th overall
- Rounding out the Hawks' scorers was graduate student Elias Gross, who tied for 27th with a 17-over 233
- Sacramento State was crowned the Big Sky Champion after combining for an 864
- Sacramento State's Ethan Davidson finished with a 2-under 214 to earn medalist honors
