Ryan Tomaso's runner-up finish, the Hartford men's golf team took top billing for the second time in as many events on Friday, as it won the Hartford Invitational at Wintonbury Hills Golf Club.

TOURNAMENT NOTES & HARTFORD HIGHLIGHTS
- Tomaso, who birdied three holes on the front nine, took runner-up honors after leading the Hawks with a 66 (-4)
- Hartford landed three top-10 finishers, as senior Matthew Schwab, who took medalist honors at Monday's tournament at Blackledge Golf Club, tied for third with a 68 (-2), while graduate student Elias Gross tied for sixth with a 71 (+1)
- The Hawks finished six strokes ahead of runner-up Rhode Island, combining for a team score of 278
- Junior Jared Winiarz rounded out Hartford's scorers with a 73 (+3), which was tied for 15th overall
- Junior Danny Frodigh, who competed as an individual, posted the tournament's fourth-best score with a career-low 69 (-1)
- Rhode Island's Chris Fancoeur edged Tomaso for medalist honors with a 65 (-5)

Hartford returns to action next week with the UConn Collegiate Invitational. The three-day event, which is held at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Conn., is set to begin on Thursday, April 1.
