Malik Ellison | Men's Basketball | Voorhees, N.J.
Malik Ellison joined the Hartford men's basketball team as a graduate transfer after completing his undergraduate degree at Pitt. An America East All-Conference First Team member who became the second player in program history to earn NABC All-District 1 honors, he helped lead the Hawks to the championship game of the America East Playoffs for the first time since 2008.
Ellison enjoyed one of the most decorated seasons in Hartford program history. Scoring in double figures in all but three of his 23 appearances — including 10 games with 20+ points — he closed out the year averaging 18.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. In addition, he was the only player to average a double-double in America East play with 19.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest.
If you could relive one moment from your career as a Hartford Hawk, what would it be?
Winning on the road in the semifinals against Stony Brook to advance to the championship game.
What was your favorite Hartford Athletics event that you attended as a fan, and why?
The women's basketball game because I love watching basketball and it was a good game.
What passions do you hope to pursue after graduation?
Professional basketball, finish my Master's program, and accomplish different business goals that I have

I learned the importance of culture, and how it affects the success of your team.
