Florence Strikes Out Six in Baseball's 13-2 Win at North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt-junior Nathan Florence tossed six scoreless innings and struck out six en route to the win, as Hartford baseball defeated North Florida on the road, 13-2, on Saturday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.

Drew DeMartino, Tyler Coppo and Tremayne Cobb Jr. all homered in the win as the Hawks improved to 3-2 on the season with the win, while the Ospreys fell to 2-7 with the loss.
 
HARTFORD 13 NORTH FLORIDA 2 

Hartford struck first in the second inning after Coppo drilled a solo homer to right center to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Leading 2-0 in the fourth inning, Cobb Jr. launched a two-run home run to push Hartford's lead to 4-0. DeMartino followed in the next inning with a three-run shot, giving him two homers in the series.

Holding a 9-0 run entering the ninth inning, Hartford plated five runs to take a comfortable 13-0 run lead. The Ospreys were able to score two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the Hawks held on for the 13-2 win.
