To donate to “Stache for Cash,” please fill out the donation form and e-mail to coach Lawrence at CoachLaw@hartford.edu. “Stache for Cash” tee-shirts will be distributed for donations greater than $20.
The Hawks are scheduled for three, 50 minute games in their first time partaking in the event. Hartford will first square off against Endicott at 11:00 a.m. followed by a 12:00 p.m. match-up against Providence. The Hawks face Bryant in their last game which is slated for 2:00 p.m.
In 2007, a member of the Vermont lacrosse team was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Following surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, he was able to start for the lacrosse team that spring. Although he was treated in Vermont, the player followed a treatment plan from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and is in full remission. Vermont head coach Ryan Curtis and his wife Kelly, who worked at the Institute, collaborated with the men's lacrosse team and started the Catamount Classic – Lacrosse for a Cure in 2008.
In its inaugural year in 2008, the Catamount Classic raised nearly $20,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and last year, the event netted nearly $40,000 for the foundation.
