Welcome to the University of Hartford's official Pep Band website. As a Pep Band for the Division I University of Hartford Hawks, we are dedicated to supporting our sports teams while promoting school spirit.

Who We Are:
Undergraduates, Graduate Students, Alumni, and Community Members representing the seven Schools and Colleges and the eighty six majors of the University of Hartford. We all share our love of music and dedication to supporting the Hartford Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams, as well as the entire University. Do you enjoy playing your instrument? Would you like to continue doing so in the company of a great group of people? Then the University of Hartford Pep Band is for you.
What We Do:
We play at all of the home games for both the University of Hartford Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams. In addition, we perform at the annual Midnight Mania celebration, marking the official start of Basketball season, and at a number of other on-campus events. We also travel with the teams to the America East Championship and work closely with fellow spirit teams; Hartford Cheerleading and the Dance Team. Are you interested in an activity that will allow you to perform in a FUN setting? Then, the University of Hartford Pep Band is for you!
What Instruments:
We take flute, piccolo, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, mellophone, trombone, baritone, tuba, sousaphone, bass guitar, percussion, and drum set players. The Pep band has a drum set, percussion equipment, sousaphones, a baritone, and mellophones for members to use. Any other instruments can also be rented on campus!
Life with Division I Teams:
The University of Hartford is an NCAA Division I school, allowing our Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams to be eligible for the NCAA Tournaments. Our Women have qualified for “The Big Dance” six times, with the University of Hartford Pep Band traveling with them each time. The 2006 Tournament featured us on ESPN, wrote about us in the New York Times, USA Today and other national publications and found us making a guest appearance on the CBS Early Show…are you interested in traveling with us to next year’s Tournament?
