University of Hartford Sports Medicine


The Certified Athletic Trainer is a highly educated and skilled professional specializing in athletic health care. In cooperation with physicians and other allied health personnel, the certified athletic trainer functions as an integral member of the athletic health care team. Certified athletic trainers have fulfilled the requirements for certification established by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification, Inc. (NATABOC).

The University of Hartford Sports Medicine Department delivers athletic training and sports medicine services to the student athletes at the University of Hartford.  The services provided include prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries and health and wellness education. 

The goal of the sports medicine department is to provide the student athletes at the University of Hartford with the best health care possible.  We remain committed to the continuous upgrading of the education, clinical skill development and equipment used in the delivery of sports medicine services.  

Our philosophy is that the needs of the student athletes will always be the first consideration for all members of the sports medicine staff.
