The Hartford softball team has added three non-conference games to its upcoming schedule, head coach
Sarah Kalka announced today. The contests were added in the place of previous games that had been canceled due to weather.
Â
The Hawks will take on UConn in Storrs on Wednesday, April 27, for a single game at 3 p.m. Hartford has also added a home doubleheader against Army, slated for Tuesday, May 3, at 3 p.m. on the Hartford Softball Field.
Â
Hartford faces a three-game conference series against Maine this weekend. Saturday's doubleheader against the Black Bears will start at noon, as the team hosts Hartford Hawks Hits for Hope, raising donations for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Arley Picard, the Hawks' Team IMPACT member. In addition to raising money through direct donations, the team will be wearing "Team Arley Picard" wristbands during the game. Additional wristbands will be available for the public to purchase at the game for $5. Both youth and adult sizes will be available.
Â
Sunday will be Senior Day, as the Hawks honor the three players taking part in their final home game –
Jenice Aloyo,Â
Peyton Fisher andÂ
Sawyer Fried. Game time for that contest is slated for 11 a.m.
