WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior women's soccer player Amelia Pereira was invited to Harvard University on Monday for open tryouts with the Boston Breakers, a member of the eight-team WPSL Elite League.
Pereira, a 2013 NSCAA Continental Tire All-American and America East Striker of the Year, closed out her senior season at Hartford leading the America East Conference in goals scored (13) and points (33), while adding seven assists. Her 13 goals and 33 points are career-highs for the striker, while her seven assists tied a career-best from her junior season. She also finished with six game-winning goals which is the seventh most in the nation.
For her career, Pereira scored 25 goals and collected 69 points (19 assists) which are both ninth best in Hartford women's soccer history.
Off the field, Pereira earned CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America honors, while also being named the America East Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year. A management major, Pereira sports a combined grade point average of 3.79 in the Barney School of Business.
