COMPLETE RESULTS

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The University of Hartford men's tennis team opened its 2012 Fall schedule at the Fairfield Doubles festival over the weekend. A pair of Hawk tandems picked up victories at the doubles tournament.

Playing in Flight 1A, the team of senior Marco Neves and freshman Jordan Badenko earned an 8-6 victory over Sacred Heart's Jeremy Shuskus and James Bernhart. Neves and Badenko also dropped matches against opponents from UConn and the eventual champions of the flight from host Fairfield.

Another senior-freshman duo, Edgardo Ureta and Luis Montes, picked up a doubles win. Ureta and Montes held on in a tiebreaker against Ty Parks and RJ Mirabile from Fairfield to earn an 8-7(3) decision in Flight 2D.

Josh Isaacson and Nicholas Sharwarko teamed together in Flight 1B, falling just short in their three matches. Alex Holdstein and Bogdan Nedelcu, both returning players from last year's squad, also played in Flight 2C.

The Hawks return to the court at Connecticut September 19.
