MADISON, Conn. –
In the final meet of the 2010 cross country season, six University of Hartford men and three women competed at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Saturday afternoon held at Hammonnasset State Park. The men placed 26th out of 34 teams in the event while the women did not field enough runners to score at the meet.

In his final cross country meet, senior Jonas Hampton posted the Hawks' top finish of the afternoon as he was the 80th runner to cross the line of the 10k course finishing with a new PR of 31:53.6. Following Hampton for the Hartford men was Andrew Chalmers, a junior, who turned in a time of 32:23.1 and placed 115th overall.

Taking the third and fourth spots on the Hawks' scorecard was junior Eric Flaman and rookie John Busque. Flaman took 171st place first with a time 33:22.1 while Busque was the 193rd runner to cross at the 33:58.9 mark. Junior Kevin Brandon rounded out the Hartford scoring, placing 198th while recording a time of 34:11.4.

Rookie Megan Barry paved the way for the Hartford women with her 188th place finish on Saturday. The rookie crossed the finish line with a time of 23:42.6 on the 6,000-meter course. Classmate Jennifer Flores turned in the second best finish for the Hawks on the afternoon with a time of 24:24.7, taking 212th place overall.

Also competing for the Hartford women was sophomore Stephanie Curcio who was the 239th runner to finish with her time of 25:50.0.
