LAX's Guevara Named NEILA Scholar-Athlete

FAIRFIELD, CT - University of Hartford senior Eric Guevara was one of 19 lacrosse players named to the Ninth Annual Division I All-New England Senior Scholar Athlete team, as announced last week by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA). 

The group includes student-athletes from nine different schools. The Scholar Athlete Team acknowledges the graduating seniors who have earned over a 3.0 grade point average and have excelled on the field.

Guevara started and played all 13 games as a defender, leading the Hawks in caused turnovers (20) while recording 32 ground balls. He was an America East All-Academic Team selection with a 3.43 GPA and graduated in May with a degree in criminal justice.

Hartford finished 2-11 overall on the season and picked up its first conference win since 2007. The Hawks lost eight games by two goals or less, including four by a single goal.
