Beverly Named America East Player of the Week on Monday

West Hartford, CT - Junior Erica Beverly, a unanimous preseason all-conference selection, tallied a double-double in the Hawks' only game of the week, a 56-52 loss at Bowling Green. This is Beverly's first career player of the week award and she is the second Hawk to receive the recognition this season.

The junior forward posted her fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while adding three assists, two steals and a career-high six blocks. She shot 40% for the game (4-for-10), and finished with a 5-of-7 effort at the free-throw line. Beverly's six blocks marked the first such performance by a Hartford Hawk since Kenitra Johnson in January, 2000.

The women's basketball team returns to action on New Years Eve when they travel to the XL Center in Hartford, CT for a 12:00 p.m. tip-off against the top-ranked Connecticut Huskies.
