West Hartford, CT ? Senior point guard Lisa Etienne was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday, November 24, the first time a Hartford player has received the honor this season. Etienne led the Hawks to a 2-1 week, including the program's first ever win over a top-10 team, a 53-51 victory over #6/5 Duke on Friday.
Etienne led the Hawks in scoring in all three games, averaging 15.3 ppg for the week. She opened the week with a 17-point performance, a season-high for all Hartford players. She finished the first game of the week with a 7-of-11 effort from the field and 2-of-4 at the free throw line.
Against the Blue Devils, she racked up a game-high 15 points shooting 6-for-15 from the field, grabbed a season-high six rebounds and swiped away a career-high seven steals. She rounded out the DePaul invitational with a 14-point effort against DePaul. She finished that game 4-of-8 overall and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Combined in the three games, Etienne averaged 4.0 rebounds, 3.33 steals, and 2.33 assists per game, while shooting .500 (17-54) from the field and .333 (4-12) from beyond the arc.
