West Hartford, CT ? University of Hartford women's basketball coach Jennifer Rizzotti announced today that Amy Lawrence will join the program as play-by-play announcer for the Hawks radio broadcasts this season.
Lawrence will take over for Jonathan Easterbrook, who recently retired after 14 seasons as the voice of Hartford women's basketball on WWUH 91.3 FM. She comes to Hartford after four seasons as the play-by-play announcer for the University of Rhode Island women's basketball team.
Lawrence serves as a fill-in host with ESPN's national radio network heard on more than 300 full-time affiliates in the United States. She has also done freelance work for ESPNU and CSTV in a play-by-play and analyst role. She served as the play-by-play commentator for an eight-game Big East women's basketball package in 2006.
All of the Hawks women's basketball games will once again be broadcast live on WWUH 91.3 FM, the home of Hartford women's basketball for the past 14 years. Games will also be streamed online at WWUH.org. WWUH is a public alternative radio station that is housed at the University of Hartford and driven by listener support.
